Travel & Booking FAQ
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about travel & booking products and how we evaluate them.
No single site is always cheapest. We recommend using aggregators like Google Flights or Skyscanner to compare prices across multiple platforms, then checking direct airline/hotel websites for price matching. Our rankings help identify which platforms consistently offer the best value across different travel types.
Direct booking often includes perks like free breakfast, room upgrades, and flexible cancellation that OTAs don't offer. However, OTAs sometimes have lower base prices. Compare both options for each booking — the total value (price + perks) determines the better deal.
For domestic flights, 1-3 months before departure is the sweet spot. International flights are best booked 2-6 months ahead. Holiday travel should be booked 4-6 months in advance. Last-minute deals exist but are unreliable and stressful.
We score travel platforms on a 100-point scale evaluating price competitiveness, booking experience, customer service quality, cancellation/refund policies, loyalty programs, mobile app quality, and coverage breadth (destinations, providers).
